Additionally, Member Records Administrator designs and generates routine and ad-hoc reports for management review. Coordinates maintenance and upgrades to database software. HIM/Medical Records Manager Full Time
We are seeking a Health Information Management Manger for a 25-bed critical access hospital in Carrollton, KY. The HIM Manager will be responsible for coordinating health information management services throughout the facility. The HIM Manager will lead, plan, direct and manage the HIM department and staff to ensure quality service.
Responsibilities include: directing health information services; ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards related to health information and coding principles; developing policies and procedures; providing health information related education and training to facility employees; working with medical and facility staff on task forces and committees; and serving as an internal consultant in areas such as documentation, privacy, security, and other areas of health information practice.
Requires a minimum of a 2-year degree in HIM. RHIT or RHIA certification is preferred. Minimum of two years management experience in a hospital setting. Needs to be proficient in coding and have successful management and project management experience; be knowledgeable of federal and state laws and standards of practice; can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; understand information systems, healthcare, data base and report writing software.
