    Testing Required:

    Job Summary

    Develops, oversees, and manages projects to drive the Electric Distribution operations strategy. Collaborates with senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders to identify and execute operational changes that will result in meeting or exceeding customer expectations for reliability and cost effectiveness. Span of control: Leads a team comprised of leaders, individual contributors, and contractors.


    Key Accountabilities

    • Develops and executes long term plans to support the company’s overall distribution operations strategy. Planning may include projects related to tree trim, grid modernization, distribution automation, strategic capital planning, and other projects directly supporting customer reliability and cost effectiveness.
    • Develops and supports regulatory strategy, which entails writing rate case testimony and exhibits, executing, and updating the annual rate case model, and manages capital project investments related to electric distribution.
    • Accountable for developing an operations plan and creating a detailed schedule to share with internal and external stakeholders driving operational excellence
    • Develops contracting strategies, leads negotiations for the business, secures resources, and administers contracts for contract labor.Responsible for department budget and ensures the team meets the budget goals; develops and monitors detailed weekly budget by line item weekly and engages business to course correct.
    • Leads the continuous improvement commitment and efforts within area of responsibility: designing processes; establishing quality and quantity standards and metrics; collecting, refining, adapting, and communicating best practices; sharing knowledge and developing staff in a systematic fashion.
    • Develops an employee environment that utilizes change management principles and embraces the company's service keys and leadership principles to provide high quality service to our customers and communities.
    • Ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group(s) within area of responsibility; planning, organizing, directing the performance of on-going activities and/or special/ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selections, training, coaching and performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting, and budgeting.

    Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of job relevant experience, with a minimum of 2 years of formal leadership experience.
    • Experience developing and executing a 3–5 year strategy at business unit level.
    • Examples of job relevant experience include Electric distribution planning or strategy, corporate strategy, utility line clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in business, engineering, or another related field.
    • Prior work experience in vegetation management or distribution operations
    • Ability to develop executive level presentations for both senior leadership and Board of Directors that will clearly define objectives, priorities, and long-term strategic plans.

    • Proficiency in Excel including experience with updating financial models.
    • Strong employee and customer relationship building skills.
    • Innovative and creative conflict management and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to create new methods, services, products, and solutions.
    • Ability to build consensus and support for programs and initiatives at all levels of the organization.
    • Possess a valid driver's license, meet company driving standards and provide own transportation within the service area.
    • Knowledge and experience in Union/Management labor agreement administration
    • Knowledge of financial and economic analysis, project, and risk management

    • Basic knowledge of the company's software programs, such as Maximo, SAP
