Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric works in collaboration with physicians to manage care for patients in a psychiatric setting. Orders, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Provides primary care to psychiatry and at-risk patients. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric requires a master's degree. Requires Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - (Sioux City Clinic TBD)
LOCATION: Family Health Care of Siouxland – (Sioux City Clinic TBD)
POSITION: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Full-Time (Minimum of 35 hours a week)
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provide primary health care to patients specializing in mental health and well-being of patients; caring and acting as an assistant to physicians following established standards and practices.
SUPERVISOR: Clinic Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to provide quality customer service
- Team player with outstanding interpersonal abilities
- Independent thinker
- Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills
- Strive in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Word processing and computer experience
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
- State Registered Nurse license and ARNP certification required.
- Three years of family practice experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification
