Reviews claims to make sure that payer specific billing requirements are met, follows-up on billing, determines and applies appropriate adjustments, answers inquiries, and updates accounts as necessary. The primary purpose of the Patient Accounts Clerk II position is to provide billing and clerical support within the Patient Accounts Department. Responsible for control of input/output to IST Medipac System, error corrections, corrections, and submission of missing ancillary charges on billed accounts, bad debt write off and all other online adjustment functions within the Patient Accounts Department.
High School Diploma or GED Certification required. Two (2) years of prior experience in a medical setting, preferably in a medical office or clinic setting, especially in physician billing. Detailed knowledge of insurance coverages and medical terminology. Must be PC literate and demonstrate quantitative orientation and background in financial transactions and record keeping. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Ability to work in a stressful environment while maintaining a professional demeanor and customer service is required.
