Police Patrol Officer is responsible for patrolling an assigned area to prevent and discover crime and to enforce regulations. Responsible for responding to calls, taking necessary action at the scene of crime or disturbance, conducting investigations, making arrests, testifying in court, and completing reports/forms and routine paperwork. Being a Police Patrol Officer requires an associate degree in criminal justice and/or additional certifications and at least 12 to 18 months of law enforcement experience. Requires Firearms Certification. Additionally, Police Patrol Officer typically reports to a police sergeant. The Police Patrol Officer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Police Patrol Officer typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    The Parkville, Missouri Police Department is accepting applications for Police Officers. The Parkville PD wears a traditional Police uniform and does not allow beards or visible tattoos while wearing a short sleeve shirt. The patrol division works 12-hours shifts which normally allows Officers to be off every other weekend.

    In April 2023, Parkville voters passed a new Public Safety tax. This will impact the growth and development of the Police Department as the City and Department continue to experience growth.

    Higher pay for Lateral Officers, based on experience.

    Parkville is a suburban City located in the northwest portion of the Kansas City, Missouri Metropolitan area in Platte County. The City is about ten minutes south of the Kansas City International Airport and roughly ten minutes northwest of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Parkville runs along the banks of the Missouri River for several miles. Parkville is connected by several Highways and one Interstate. The City is around 15 square miles with multiple growing residential and commercial developments. Parkville is the home of Park University, the National Golf Club, which has two golf courses, multiple neighborhoods, shopping areas and an historic downtown. As the City continues to experience residential and commercial growth, so does the Police Department.

    The department provides all POST continuing education training and all essential equipment and uniform items.
