Production Manager manages operations of production areas to ensure that volume, cost, waste, and quality standards are achieved. Follows overall production schedules to manage staffing and establish daily and shift production goals. Being a Production Manager monitors shift production metrics to identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements. Coordinates maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed. Additionally, Production Manager ensures that staff training processes, equipment, gear, and tool requirements are fulfilled to comply with health and safety regulations. Coaches teams in best practices to provide a safe and efficient work environment and resolve escalated issues and problems. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior manager. The Production Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Duties
- Manage all aspects of the processing operations; i.e. cutting, staffing, equipment, food safety, customer expectations, etc.
- Work closely with the sales team to determine the daily processing demands and to ensure they are met.
- Responsible to ensure customer expectation are met by bridging the gap between sales and processing
- Manage the entire production team and do strategic and tactical planning short and long term
- Track processing throughput to make more accurate calculations of processing capacity. Develop and share a report on a regular basis.
- Ensure product quality meets customer specifications. Communicate to the sales rep any deviations from specifications.
- Ensure all food safety (SQF) standards are met on a daily basis. Report any deviations from specifications.
- Track yields on all products and communicate them to the sales rep. Develop and share a report on a regular basis on all products.
- Practice continuous improvement to eliminate waste and ensure the most efficient workflow.
- Put measures in place to ensure sufficient trained personnel show up to work to meet the demand. Develop contingency plans.

- Ensure all planned maintenance is completed on a daily basis.
- Ensure the production supervisor manages hours worked/overtime
- Serve as the production representative to the Canopy implementation team. Become a Canopy master to ensure we are using its full capabilities to support our processing operation
- Develop and share reports that measure the productivity of the processing operation
- Look for trends that can be capitalized upon to improve processing capacity
Qualifications

- Previous experience in a production management role.
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- College degree preferred.
- This is a full time, exempt position, will require some holidays and weekend availability and is on site (no remote work). Hours generally from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
