We have a new opening for a Director of Performance Improvement. The Director of Performance Improvement is a liaison to department directors and administration to ensure that the provision of quality care is monitored and continuously improved. Core functions include:

• Coordination of the facility-wide Performance Improvement Program;
• Facilitation of the medical staff components of the program in conjunction with the Medical Staff Director;
• Planning and chairing the PI function and reporting findings and activities to the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Board;
• Assistance in maintaining ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements throughout the facility;
• Assistance provided to managers and leadership in establishing best practices based on research and data analysis; and
• Promoting, planning, designing, coordinating, and evaluating training and educational activities for all staff.
• Act as an advocate for all patients, ensuring patients are treated with respect and dignity.
• Ensures facility complies with all Human Rights standards and regulations.
• Investigates all patient grievances and ensures all issues are resolved
• Maintains and reports grievance data

Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• • • Valid RN license required if candidate is a Registered Nurse.
    • Certifications in CPR/FA and Handle with Care preferred. Training conducted onsite.

Education/Experience:

• • • Master's degree in healthcare or social services field or graduate of an accredited nursing program. MSN preferred.
    • Previous clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population, with prior management and training experience to assure an understanding of systems management, time management, and staff development.
    • Thorough knowledge of data collection, aggregation, statistical analysis, and use of statistical display tools.
    • Previous experience in a supervisory role in a healthcare setting.
    • Experience dealing with regulatory agencies (TJC, CPS, Licensing, Human Rights, etc) required.

General Requirements:

• • • Must be at least 21 years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children's Residential Facilities. (22VAC42-11-380, pg. 43)
    • Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
    • Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
    • Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.)
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
    • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions.
    • Willingness to interact with patients with varying levels of cognitive functioning.
