We are looking for a California Credentialed School Nurse to join an exciting School District for the remaining of 23-24 School Year, and for 24-25 School Year!

Primary responsibility is to attend IEP meetings to review student records with the IEP team and parents. The School RN will also provide health care services to students to treat injuries, mild to acute sicknesses, manage student medication, and support students with chronic illnesses. You must possess good organizational skills and the ability to communicate well with other providers, teachers, and administrators as well as parents or guardians.

Responsibilities

• Attend student IEP meetings with staff and families: Communicate effectively, providing clear summaries of students' level of function and current needs, as well as make recommendations for the IEP team to consider
• Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
• Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities
• Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene
• Detect health problems in early stages through regular screenings
• Keep track of students’ vaccination records
• Update students’ medical history
• Ensure school environment is safe for children and school staff (e.g. prevention of communicable diseases)
• Write referrals for pediatricians and other health specialists
• Ensure compliance with national and local health laws

Qualifications

• Current State of California RN License
• Current CA Credentialed School Nurse License or Preliminary Credential
• Current CPR (American Heart Association)
