Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Director Network Operations to join their team. The role is based in Brooklyn with occasional travel to other sites in the New York Area. The Network Operations Center Manager position will be responsible for the remote restoration and monitoring of the wireless, voice & data network. This position leads a technically diverse team of internal and external members responsible for monitoring the operational network in a Tier 1, 2 and 3 environments on a 24x7x365 basis. This position manages and maintains the operational policies of the Engineering organization governed through Operational Level Agreement (OLA) and Service Level Agreement (SLA). The NOC Director is the second point of escalation for the Operations Center and its external partners. The ideal candidate will have eight or more years’ experience in successfully managing NOC Operations of increased size and complexity. Establish and drive a culture of accountability and trust that creates engaged associates passionately.

Responsibilities

• Direct and advise multi-disciplinary leadership teams, internal and external partners, and vendors in resolving service disruptions promptly.
• Maintain high network availability and reliability through remote monitoring and restoration of the wireless voice and data network, involving various backhaul technologies.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, excellent verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Utilize tools and analysis, such as Operations dashboards, to drive improvements in network reliability and availability.
• Manage all aspects of the National NOC, including connectivity, element management, network performance, tools, and procedures.
• Serve as the secondary escalation point for significant incidents affecting the operational network.
• Establish, report, and manage a standard set of KPIs for the team.
• Liaise with C-level executives, shareholders, regulatory agencies, and internal partners regarding network status and recovery efforts.
• Ensure adequate scheduling for continuous network coverage.
• Develop staff through training and provide career guidance, including personnel selection for efficient NOC operation.
• Oversee the resolution of all network and IT service issues, establishing standard troubleshooting procedures.
• Address technical and quality issues, maintaining communication with all stakeholders during complex problem resolution.
• Develop and train staff in customer interaction procedures, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
• Possess in-depth understanding and practical experience in various technical areas like IP Networks, Fixed Wireless technology, network equipment, and cybersecurity.

• Network Design - BGP, LDP, IPv6, HSRP, MPLS VPN, EoMPLS, EVPN, GRE, IPsec, Direct and advise multi-disciplinary leadership teams, internal and external partners, and vendors in resolving service disruptions promptly.

Salary: USD $170,000.00 gross/year variable
