  • Essential Functions

    • Develop, execute, and manage digital marketing and social media strategies.
    • Thorough knowledge of different means of communications and design to enhance the organization’s voice and presence by ensuring marketing efforts are clear, effective and consistent to uphold brand awareness and reputation through online/offline channels, and print.
    • Ability to create content, design publications, and develop media stories to ensure key messaging while upholding Hospice of Southern Illinois’ mission. Utilize constant contact email marketing for Wings Newsletter.
    • Experience with Search Engine Optimization to enhance the paid and organic reach of the organization.
    • Cross Platform Management – ability to build media and subscriber lists and contact management across platforms and media outlets. Assist with web design and development to ensure graphic and brand standards for cross-platform marketing and communication channels, while ensuring a fresh, personal, and educational platform.
    • Assist with community education in the field as needed.
    • Experience with social media services, social media advertising, and social media programs including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
    • Able to public speak on Hospice of Southern Illinois to our community partners, in a clear and concise, professional manner.
    • Ability to build media and subscriber lists and contact management across platforms and media outlets.
    • Working knowledge of graphic design programs including Canva, and InDesign.
    • Collaborate with other departments including but not limited to Development, Clinical, and Administration to ensure communication efforts are timely, and branding meets the Hospice of Southern Illinois standards.
    • Manage notifications for social media pages and innovate professional interactions, engagement, and customer service to generate leads, brand awareness, and conversations aligned with strategic goals.
    • Collaborates with Community Education team to help develop and promote marketing strategies.
    • Assist in the development of brand awareness to grow the business.
    • Communicates effectively in order to present information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Successfully mediates conflict (in and out of the office) between individuals and groups; can hammer out tough agreements and settle disputes equitably; can find common ground and obtain cooperation with minimum noise.
    • Analyzes problems by evaluating available information and resources; make decisions; develop effective, viable solutions to problems which can help drive the effectiveness of the department.
    • Ability to incorporate values and principles that distinguish right from wrong in making ethical decisions and choosing ethical behaviors.
    • Demonstrates the ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment to establish, build, and maintain positive work relationships and to ensure deadlines, goals, and objectives are met. Including but not limited to, working with directors and managers to develop the social media expenses for the organizational budget. Ensure print production is within budget, as set forth by directors. Collaborate with department managers on print needs and maintains spreadsheet to ensure accuracy of orders, timelines are met, and associated costs are billed appropriately.
    • Knowledge and ability to utilize Microsoft programs focusing on Word, Excel, and Publisher as well as the ability to utilize computer systems to represent data.
    • Self-aware of feelings and the causes as well as regulation of emotions, feelings, trustworthiness, and conscientiousness. Including how one handles difficult and uncomfortable situations and adaptability.

    • Position Summary : Highly driven and creative individual responsible for developing, executing, and managing digital and print communication strategies and public relations efforts including but not limited to: graphic design, active social media platforms, organizational branding guidelines, social media campaigns, website review, and ensuring marketing efforts are clear, effective, and consistent to uphold the brand and reputation of Hospice of Southern Illinois in the community. Responsibilities to be fulfilled while maintaining relationships with all internal departments to develop stories, create content, and grow the brand. Additionally, accountable for new and existing relationships with external vendors and service providers in order to complete all marketing efforts effectively, efficiently, and on budget. Assist Community Relations & Education Director and Development department with ensuring branding of print and social media promotion and fundraising.
    • Full-Time Salaried Exempt Position
    • 40 Hours Weekly, Monday-Friday 8:30 A.M.- 5:00 P.M. with the possibility of some evenings and weekends.

    Position Requirements

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred or equivalent.

    Experience

    • Two to three years' experience in marketing, digital marketing, public relations, or communication required.
    • One year experience in hospice preferred.

    Other Qualifications

    • Reliable means of transportation.
    • Ability to travel within the geographical boundaries of Hospice of Southern Illinois.
    • Ability to function with minimal supervision.
    • Proven experience in digital marketing, public relations, social media, marketing and branding.
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft, Adobe, and video editing programs.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team oriented with a creative, open and positive mindset.

    Working Conditions: Spends approximately 70 % of time in the following settings: air-conditioned office buildings and 30% in an automobile. Both environments vary in exposure to excessive humidity and noise. The position does have exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients, exposure to communicable diseases and exposure to traffic.
