Trade Show Director develops and directs the overall strategic planning, budget, and execution of trade shows and exhibitions. Ensures detailed planning and execution of show and evaluates show outcomes based on established metrics for quality and attendance. The Trade Show Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function.     OVERVIEW:

    Keyholders’ leadership and guidance to the team creates a positive environment focused on customer service, maximum productivity, and sales generation. Keyholders must be able to perform the functions of a company Sales Associate.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1) Leadership:

    a. Lead and inspire the team by being a positive role model.

    b. Establish and maintain the Company’s standard of customer service by demonstrating a “customer comes first” attitude.

    c. Demonstrate good judgement in decision-making based on a mixture of information gathered on the job.

    i. Understand and use appropriate channels to find support, when needed.

    d. Assess daily staffing needs and validate the sales floor is covered by a balanced team sufficient to effectively perform all the store’s business functions.

    e. In absence of the store manager:

    i. Open store and ensure store is prepared for opening (open register, count cash, complete required paperwork, complete any bank deposits, acquire change for register, ensure sales floor is prepared to receive customers).

    ii. Provide direction and initiate and accomplish tasks to ensure store operates productively and efficiently.

    iii. Close the store operationally, process all register closing duties, and complete bank deposit functions.

    2) Operational Responsibilities:

    a. Partner in store’s execution of all tagging of merchandise for sale, apply promotional notices and price tags, apply loss prevention sensors, and process merchandise from stock room to sales floor. Keep stock room efficiently organized.

    b.

    i. Demonstrate attention to detail in directing and implementing: SHOE SHOW’s strategies, promotions, and directives, as provided by the Company. Ensure that markdown directives are implemented accurately and in a timely manner.

    ii. Process stock transfers.

    3) Drive for results:

    a. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and effectiveness while ensuring the store is inviting and hospitable.

    b. Promote SHOE SHOW brand loyalty by demonstrating sales leadership and connecting with customers.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1) Selling:

    a. Meet daily and individual sales goals from Manager.

    b. Maintain the visual appearance of the store.

    c. Maintain and contribute to a positive team environment.

    2) Cashiering:

    a. Maintain supplies for register station, including bags, boxes, register tape, and other necessary materials.

    3) Stocking:

    a. Perform all aspects of processing merchandise and/or other items needed for store operations.

    b. Support and assist in placing merchandise on sales floor and maintaining window/endcap/handbag displays in accordance with SHOE SHOW’s style guide and management instructions.

    c. Assist in the cleaning and the recovery of the store sales floor, stockroom, and restrooms.

    d. Complete additional tasks as assigned by Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Keyholder.

    ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

    Work is typically performedindoors in a retail store. Flooring surfaces may be carpeted or uncarpeted. Depending on seasonal conditions, exterior work clearing snow and ice from walkways may be required. Sweeping exterior walkways may also be required.

    Position requires walking and standing for 4-12 hours, depending on shift length, and frequent bending, reaching, grasping, climbing a ladder or step stool, kneeling, and squatting.

    CREDENTIALS/EXPERIENCE:

    1) One (1) year prior sales experience preferred.

    2) One (1) year prior supervisory experience preferred.

    EFFECTIVE DATE:

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $10.50 per hour

    Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
