Wellness Program Consultant assists an organization in designing wellness programs that promote healthy employee behaviors. Helps develop and implement wellness initiatives that educate and encourage employees on achieving personal health goals. Being a Wellness Program Consultant analyzes the effectiveness and utilization of wellness programs and recommends changes to improve outcomes and employee satisfaction. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or in a related area. Additionally, Wellness Program Consultant typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Wellness Program Consultant work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Fitness Specialist, Indianola Community Wellness Center
Job Summary –
The Fitness Specialist is responsible for supporting health and wellness initiatives through health education, wellness coaching and fitness training for the Indianola Community Wellness Center members. The Fitness Specialist works with members to develop individualized wellness care plans to support healthy lifestyle practices and improve chronic health conditions.I n the preventative realm, the Fitness Specialist focuses on helping members establish health behaviors to help reach sustainable and lasting changes. In the chronic realm, the Fitness Specialist focuses on helping members establish behaviors to slow down progression of chronic disease and improve overall health. The Fitness Specialist provides best practice wellness coaching and exercise prescriptions based on the targeted population and is able to evaluate data and outcomes to provide recommendations to further enhance programs.
Job-Specific Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field required with minimum of one year experience in a teaching role or health related field, including program development designed to improve overall health.- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.- S trong communication and analytical skills to assess member needs and provide education in a relational and motivational manner.- A bility to document and organize work product to demonstrate conformance with all job expectations.- P roficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification preferred.
