Academic Advising Director directs the academic advising department, its processes, and its advisors. Works closely with academic advisors to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken with all students advising needs. Being an Academic Advising Director assists Dean or Associate Dean in the preparation and implementation of department wide goals, procedures, and controls. Analyzes existing goals and programs and recommends improvements. Additionally, Academic Advising Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the associate dean. The Academic Advising Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Academic Advising Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. This is a contract role for a Mathematics Tutor. The Mathematics Tutor will be responsible for providing on-site tutoring services in the Tyler based office. The day-to-day tasks of the Mathematics Tutor include tutoring students in mathematics, conducting online ACT/SAT prep classes in person in the office and virtually, and effectively communicating complex mathematical concepts and test strategies to students.
- Strong Mathematics and Algebra skills
- Experience in tutoring and online tutoring
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of standardized tests such as ACT/SAT
- Experience working with high school students
- Ability to implement the Capstone test prep curriculum in an engaging way
- Patience and adaptability in working with diverse learners
- Available on Saturdays and weeknights
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 6 per week
Schedule:
- After school
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
