Academic Advising Director directs the academic advising department, its processes, and its advisors. Works closely with academic advisors to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken with all students advising needs. Being an Academic Advising Director assists Dean or Associate Dean in the preparation and implementation of department wide goals, procedures, and controls. Analyzes existing goals and programs and recommends improvements. Additionally, Academic Advising Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the associate dean. The Academic Advising Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. The Assistant Director is part of a full-time team of dedicated student development professionals who support student and post-graduate community engagement programs. The team works collaboratively to support our members (students, VISTA fellows, and faculty/administrators).
The Assistant Director is responsible for:
All aspects of the Siena College Bonner Service Leaders Program including: recruitment, training, placement, and management of 40 Bonner Service Leaders. The Assistant Director will ensure the successful management of all program requirements; maintenance of all Bonner Foundation reporting requirements; management of college work-study funding associated with the program and Bonner program budget. The AD also coordinates 6 part-time undergraduate program associates.
The Assistant Director will also take on one of the center-wide initiatives (Recruitment, Engagement and Retention; Curriculum Development; Training; or Partnership) based on AD interest and ACE team needs.
Assists other ACE administrators with development and implementation of new projects, programs, funding applications, and trainings
Annual Salary Range: $56,380.00 - $59,199.00
Bachelor's degree, excellent oral and written communications skills, and at least one year of professional work experience are required. Experience and interest in fostering transformative and impactful experiential learning opportunities through equity centered community engagement. Proficiency in Google applications. Candidates who have participated in an AmeriCorps program or have demonstrated interest in social justice and/or community engaged work are preferred. A background screening will be required.
