Academic Support Coordinator assesses students' academic needs and proficiency, assists them in setting goals, connects them to appropriate resources, and provides ongoing support as needed. Coordinates with faculty advisors and staff to provide and support innovative programs that help students succeed. Being an Academic Support Coordinator coordinates tutoring for any students needing remedial instruction or English as a Second Language assistance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Academic Support Coordinator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Academic Support Coordinator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Job Summary/Basic Function
    Tutor WSU students in the subjects you propose at the Learning Center as part of the Learning Support department. Tutoring is done on an individual appointment and/or drop-in basis. Availability for appointments and/or drop-in hours are determined by the tutor. We require and provide training in tutoring techniques. In your application, please indicate the specific subject(s) you are interested in tutoring.

    **This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

    Required Qualifications
    • Must be a WSU student.
    • Must have earned a B or better in the courses you propose to tutor.
    • A strong working knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
    • Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Ability to tutor many different courses in your selected subject area.
