Principal Accountabilities of the Position___________________________________________

The Accounting Assistant (Accounts Payable) is responsible for preforming the accounts payable functions for the enterprise.  This includes completion of credit applications, entering payables, issuing payments, and reconciling statements.  The Accounting Assistant is also responsible for reconciling the floorplan monthly and ensuring items sold off floorplan are paid off timely.

Essential Functions_____________________________________________________________

• Completion of vendor credit applications
• Scanning and filing documentation electronically
• Reviewing Purchase Orders and Purchase Order Requests
• Entering Payables and ensuring bills are paid timely
• Reconciling vendor statements
• Support the Controller with the month end closing process and account reconciliations
• Coordinating with Sales on what equipment is needed to be paid off floor plan
• Reconciling the floorplan and researching discrepancies monthly
• Working with lenders such as Wells Fargo to ensure floor plan is items are paid
• Entering credits and rebates from manufacture and ensuring accounts are accurate
• Support the CFO and Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Accounting Department

Qualifications

Minimum Education____________________________________________________________

Minimum of 2 years of business classes or equivalent in experience.  Degree and Accounting experience is preferred. 

Knowledge and Skills___________________________________________________________

• Perform varying computer skills and operate accurately and quickly standard office equipment.
• Demonstrates computer literacy and proficiency particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Microsoft GP Experience
• Efficient and responsible use of email and a time planning management system.
• Organized filing system and experience working in paperless system
• Able to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and professional manner.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
