Accounting Clerk performs routine accounting activities such as data entry, maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. Reviews, codes, and verifies transactions including billings, invoices, checks, and journal entries. Being an Accounting Clerk assists in completing moderately complex calculations using spreadsheets and other software tools. Reconciles accounts and bank statements. Additionally, Accounting Clerk has a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounting Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Escrow Account Supervisor , the Accounting Clerk is responsible for the proper maintenance and reconciliation of WACO’s Escrow Accounts through monitoring accounting reports and following established escrow accounting procedures as well as the accurate and timely processing of wires, transfers, and deposits for all escrow accounts. Duties must be performed in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring the accurate and professional care of customer escrow funds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Process and code WACO bills/accounts payable using the applicable cost center and general ledger. Upon proper authorization verification, forward to Arvest Finance and Accounting for payment.
2. Assist with various escrow file related processes necessary to the maintenance and functionality of the escrow process such as construction accounts, 1031 accounts, signature cards, CPL/Recording Fee/ATAP reconciliations.
3. Process all wires, transfers, and deposits for WACO’s escrow trust accounts through CashMan or other Arvest transfer applications.
4. Accurately monitor negative and positive file balances and ensure file balances for the proper maintenance of the escrow account.
5. Process payments for invoices/accounts receivable for WACO Title locations. Deposit title invoice and closing fee revenue for WACO closing offices at month end.
6. Monitor escheat files and outstanding check reports for the proper maintenance of the escrow account.
7. Answer RamAdmin requests and questions that pertain to wire sending, receiving, and funding.
8. Answer any incoming phone calls to the department as needed and assist callers in the absence of the individual who was called.
9. Follow Wire Fraud Best Practices and participate in Escrow Accounting Training as needed.
10. Cross-train with and back up other Accounting Clerks.
11. Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.
