Job Description

St. John Neumann Catholic Church, in Reston, VA is looking for a qualified candidate to serve as the Director of Accounting.

This role is responsible for all accounting functions including general ledger, payroll, payables & receivables, financial reporting, and budgeting activities for our large parish, including the preschool and rectory.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include overseeing & directing the duties of the bookkeeper; and the accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management that is compliant with Diocesan policies, and federal & state tax regulations.

This position must maintain a high level of financial transparency and effectively collaborate with clergy, staff, finance council, Diocesan staff, and volunteers of several ministries.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

An ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (CPA preferred) including;

· Strong attention to detail,

· Excellent communication & organizational skills,

· Proficiency with QuickBooks Pro & Intacct accounting software,

· Payroll processing with Ceridian Dayforce Payroll Service,

· Utilizing Microsoft Office Business Essentials, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher.

Compensation is commensurate with experience, and the position is up to 35-40 hours per week.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
