Accounting Director directs the operations and policies of an accounting function. Implements accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial, and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards. Being an Accounting Director monitors and evaluates accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Oversees overall monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting. Additionally, Accounting Director develops and directs accounting professionals and supports staff through subordinate managers. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to a head of accounting. The Accounting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Accounting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • The Challenge:

    The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in managing the accounting operations of the company. This position involves overseeing the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and collaborating with other departments to support the organization's strategic goals. The Accounting Manager reports to Controller.

    What you'll do:

    •      Prepare, review, and distribute accurate financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior management.
    • Analyze financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
    • Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
    • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
    • Delegate tasks, set goals, and provide guidance to ensure team members' professional growth and development.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
    • Review and approve financial transactions, including expense reports and purchase orders.
    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and mitigate risk.
    • Stay informed about changes in financial regulations and recommend adjustments to processes as needed.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
    • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of financial operations.
    • Work closely with departments such as Operations, Sales, and HR to provide financial insights and support for decision-making.
    • Monitor cash flow and liquidity, making recommendations to optimize cash utilization and investments.
    • Ensure timely funding of operational needs and adherence to working capital targets.
    • Continuously improve skills and knowledge to enhance job performance.

    What you'll need to succeed:

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
    • Proven experience (typically 4-6 years) in finance or accounting roles, with at least 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
    • Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards.
    • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, NetSuite).
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Leadership and team management abilities.
