Job Description

The Accounting Clerk will perform general clerical, bookkeeping, and assigned duties within the accounting department.

Job Duties

• Post journal entries to general ledger.
• Copy, bind, and distribute monthly financial statements.
• Inventory and maintain stock of all office supplies.
• Set up account numbers in ERP.
• Track fleet mileage reports.
• Organize and file reports (vault and copier area).
• Purchasing for accounting department.
• Distribute year end general ledgers.
• Relieve at switchboard weekly.
• Distribute office mail.
• Maintain and close work orders associated with capital projects. Compile capital interest, set up, dispose and transfer assets in the fixed asset system. Make decisions on appropriate spending, over expenditures and depreciable life of assets. Book to ERP ledger.
• Maintain and close repair work orders by assessing charges on the ERP ledger, consulting with those involved and making the appropriate journal entries. Clear accounts at year end and accrue charges as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
• Proficient in Excel or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
