The Job
Our Process and Manufacturing team is looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our growing team. In this position, you will work as part of the leadership team for the Process and Manufacturing team leading the financial accounting aspects of the business reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager. You will also lead a small team of Staff and Project Accountants to assure efficient accounting operations, and work in conjunction with the Regional Accounting Manager of the Finance and Accounting team to provide accurate financial statements and account analysis.
Essential Job Functions and Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a staff of office accountants to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting and ensure proper checks and balances.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and expense reporting.
- Supervise Accounts Receivable and cash reporting.
- Maintains various support schedules necessary to make monthly journal entries (prepaids, commission, accruals, travel expense reports, etc.) as well as year-end schedules in support of the year-end close requirements.
- Provide timely and accurate monthly office financial reporting to the Office Leadership and Accounting Manager.
- Performs reconciliation and account analysis of balance sheet accounts and identify, resolve and report findings to Manager for approval.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Project billing with multiple formats (IE: fixed fee, T&M. Project setup and maintenance in ERP system.)
- Review the revenue and costs by projects and manage the revenue recognition for all office projects.
- Develop staff, client, and project reports for Office Leaders and Project Managers for business intelligence.
- Analyze project performance reports, identify issues and work with Office Leaders and Project Managers to rectify problems.
- Assist with annual audits.
- Work closely with the Accounting Manager and Principals / Directors on special ad hoc projects.
Attributes of Top Performers
If you have some of the following characteristics and experience, you’d be an especially good fit:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5 Years of progressive accounting experience.
- 2 Years of leadership and supervisory experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of accrual accounting.
- Job Cost and Project Accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with an Engineering/Architecture Company is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of Deltek Vision is preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel Skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment and be able to meet strict monthly deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
