Accounting Supervisor supervises accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting. Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Being an Accounting Supervisor ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards. Additionally, Accounting Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. General Description:
Job responsibilities:
· Support the Assistant Controller with all phases of accounting functions, including daily/weekly P&L reports.
· Manage Fabrication & Offal Yields, Ground Beef P&L, and Value Added P&L.
· Assist with month end close including preparation of journal entries.
· Assist with quarterly physical inventories.
· Prepare SOX documentations and account reconciliations.
· Supervise accounting staff performing the duties listed above.
· Other duties as assigned
Systems Used: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, CPS, Red Prairie, SAP, and a 10-key calculator are used on a daily basis. General computer knowledge, effective communication skills, & the ability to multi-task are required.
Requirements:
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
· Minimum of 2 years accounting educational experience, or 5 years’ professional experience.
· Microsoft Office proficient; Microsoft Excel knowledge mandatory
· Leadership skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Strong Attention to detail
