Salary:

Starting at $60,000.00 (exempt)

About the Position:

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the analysis of assigned programs for reporting and budgeting purposes, contract/grant negotiations with DCFS and DHS, supervising assigned staff, back-up responsibility for processing payroll, providing assistance as requested to CFO and other leadership personnel.

A Typical Day as an Accounting Supervisor:

• Review and report DCFS and DHS program contracts/grants for assigned programs including regular budgeting and fiscal reporting and associated supporting labor allocation schedules.
• Account analysis and analytical evaluations of asset, liability, revenue and expense accounts.
• Review and approve accounts payable for assigned programs.
• Assist with and independently process payroll as primary back-up to payroll function.
• Assist with payment and processing of Accounts Payable in a cross-training capacity.
• Assist with overall financial risk management of the agency.
• Assist with preparing monthly financial statements.
• Prepare performance evaluations on staff supervised.
• Generate and run reports from the agency's general ledger system.
• Prepare account documentation in connection with the annual audit.

Does the Following Apply to You?

• Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Associate degree with 4 to 6 years prior accounting experience accepted
• Accounting/Supervisory Experience (preferred)

Additional Qualifications:

• Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Obtain an insured vehicle
• At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
