Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk jobs in Baton Rouge, LA
Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an organization's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Ensures transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk creates and distributes invoices to customers and verifies, records, and posts payments received. Reviews purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed and records and processes payments for debts owed by the organization. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk responds to customer or vendor inquiries regarding payments or billing and researches and resolves discrepancies. Maintains and reconciles accounts payable and receivable ledger accounts. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Responsibilities and Duties
- Enter vendor bills against purchase orders efficiently and accurately.
- Resolve purchase order issues in collaboration with the Purchasing and Inside Sales teams.
- Conduct weekly payment runs.
- Reconcile credit card and expense reports on a monthly basis.
- Answer vendor inquiries regarding payment status.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications

- 1 to 2 years of Accounts Payable experience is ideal, but entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to act with a sense of urgency and responsiveness.
