Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager manages the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of an organization to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Reviews and evaluates the accounts payable and receivable registers to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager monitors account aging reports, identifies delinquent accounts, and refers accounts to collection agencies. Verifies customer credit limits and applicable payment terms. The Contract Accounts Manager negotiates Standing and Project Specific contract with the assistance of the Department Head and General Counsel when applicable. Reviews contract compliance, invoicing, prelims and releases on projects. Assists with compiling bid packages with the Project Managers. Does reporting on capital project accounting and other reports as requested. Coordinates accounting and decisions support activities for the Construction Department. Knowledgeable in construction office management with the ability to answer multiple project related inquiries. Performs other duties as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction, Accounting, or applicable technical field required. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum five years of finance experience required; preferably in construction field. Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.
Knowledge and expertise in construction office management to answer multiple project related questions. Knowledge of construction accounting, contracts, and California construction standards required. Able to communicate effectively with external vendors. Able to read and understand blueprints and computer-generated documents. Able to carry and handle blueprints. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position; Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
