Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The qualified candidate will:

• Review all invoices prior to processing to ensure completeness, accuracy and allowability
• Scan, email, and post invoices to buyer’s ARVR folder for approval
• Track all approvals from buyers
• Process PO invoices for payment to vendors in IFMS (PeopleSoft Accounts Payable)
• Log incoming checks
• Communicate with buyer or buyer’s assistant on invoicing, payments, and any other information needed in order to process invoices.
• Work with buyers when necessary on subcontracts.
• Track International transactions and prepare the iTrans report to DOE quarterly
• Review invoice matching report
• Update Aging Report daily and Issue Aging Report monthly
• Track erroneous payments and provide input to the DOE IPERA Report
• Participate as a member of the Joint Information Center (JIC) or the Emergency Operations Center

Non-Exempt Salary Grade (24-28)

Minimum Requirements: These requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and applications are the means of determination.

• High School Diploma or Equivalency plus four (4) years of relevant experience,
• Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years of professional experience,
• or a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related Financial Degree

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with the PeopleSoft Financial System
• One year of Accounts Payable or Office experience
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, good oral and written communication skills

Minimum salary $52,255 per year-- Base salary will be increased upon candidate's background (i.e., education and experience)
