PROGRAM MANAGER (SYSTEMS ACQUISITION MANAGER ACQUISITION)

  • Duties

    • Performs broad and complex studies and analyses across organizational and functional lines on a variety of projects, issues and problem cases.
    • Tasks, directs, and coordinates with other internal and external organizations and offices engaged in the development and implementation of plans and objectives to assure that actions are in keeping with the PMs management direction.
    • Advises on assigned systems to lateral organizational elements, higher level management and, when required, foreign Governments on activities concerning assigned systems and missions.
    • Maintains liaison with user organizations, test agencies and facilities, and higher-level headquarters.
    • Conducts conferences to obtain agreements concerning acceptability of the current or envisioned product in relation to current military characteristics and what may be producible and supportable later in the product life cycle.

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
    • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
    • A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.
    • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management Certification within 60 months of entrance on duty.
    • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually thereafter.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Experience developing objectives for systems acquisition projects; 2) Analyzing portions of acquisition program guidance received from higher headquarters; and 3) Performing broad and complex studies across organizational and functional lines on a variety of projects, issues, and problem cases.

    This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11) position in the federal service.

    Education
