The Addiction Counselor acts as mediator between patients, relatives, medical staff, and outside agencies if needed. Runs individual, family, and group counseling for patients in chemical dependency programs. Being an Addiction Counselor typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent; meets the standards for Addiction Counselor Certification Board, or other appropriate certification. Tracks patient progress and dispensation of treatment services. In addition, Addiction Counselor typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Residential Addiction Counselor: Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing all programmatic and client affairs of the residential program, including evaluating and treating clients as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Also responsible for maintaining Clinical Files. Must be able to work with a broad range of clients.
CASAC, RN or Masters Degree preferred. Bachelors in Social Work or related field, with experience and training in substance abuse, will be considered. Full Benefits and Salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
