Addiction Mental Health Assessor jobs in Cincinnati, OH

Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Duties

    • Conduct behavioral health assessments for adults and children
    • Collaborate with providers to develop treatment recommendations
    • Provide short-term crisis intervention as needed
    • Complete assessments in various settings, including forensic and inpatient locations

    Qualifications

    • Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field (required)
    • Current Ohio licensure (required)
    • Knowledge of DSM-5 and Hamilton County public mental health system
    • Ability to formulate treatment summaries and interact sensitively with diverse backgrounds
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to make independent clinical decisions
