Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. We are seeking a full-time Director of Addiction Recovery to oversee the addiction treatment program at three facilities: South Bend Re-Entry Facility in South Bend, Indiana, Chain O'Lakes Correctional Facility in Albion, Indiana and LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility in LaPorte, Indiana.
The Director of Addiction Recovery oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment program at the correctional facility. The Director of Addiction Recovery works with the Statewide Addiction Recovery Leadership Team and communicates with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) regarding the SUD operations and treatment program.
• Master’s degree in a behavioral health field required
• Current Indiana behavioral health license such as LCAC, LMHC, or LCSW required
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year of substance abuse treatment experience in a correctional and/or mental health services environment required
• Must be appropriately and actively certified in First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
