Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Orange County Department of Mental Health seeks Community Mental Health Specialist to work as a member of the Orange County Department of Mental Health clinic team. Community Mental Health Specialist will carry a caseload and provide community-based assessment, treatment, treatment planning, Individual and group psychotherapy for enrolled individuals and families.

Applicants shall meet the following qualifications:
Licensed in accordance with NY State Education Law, Title 8, article 153, 154, or 163 as a Clinical Social Worker, or Master Social Worker, or Mental Health Counselor, or Psychologist, or Marriage and Family Therapist, or Psychoanalyst, or Creative Arts Therapist; and
Possess National Provider Identification (NPI) Number; and
Possess at least one (1) year experience working/interning within the mental health field; and
Possess a valid driver’s license; and
Pass required background check(s)
