Midland School, a distinctive co-educational boarding school for grades 9-12, is located on a 2,860-acre ranch at the edge of the Los Padres National Forest. The position is primarily responsible for supporting tasks under direction from the Director of Admissions & Advancement. The Admissions Associate will be involved in all aspects of admissions and will work closely with the team to execute successful marketing and enrollment of the school.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Director of Admission and Advancement with student recruitment including domestic travel, campus tours, online events, and application reviews
- Manage prospective student tour and shadow schedules and necessary follow up
- Assist in growing enrollment by creating, fostering, and maintaining relationships with prospective and current families
- Collaborate on Admissions and Advancement Office needs
- Supervise students in a residential setting (Faculty of the Day duties, plan = weekday: Monday - Thursday)
- Host dinner table 4 nights per week (family welcome)
- Active and positive participation in school activities
- Assist with event logistics - from creating invite lists, sending mailed and emailed invitations to appropriate constituent lists, RSVPs to pre-event planning and day of event set-up and coordination
- Occasional evening/weekend work (Thanksgiving is a must)
- Additional duties as needed to effectively operate the school
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher
Additional Desired Experience
- Knowledge of data entry, databases and/or experience in Admissions
- Co-curricular program design experience
- Experience working in a mission-focused environment
- Other diverse skills and interests to share with our community
- Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word or Google Suite
- Highly organized and able to effectively manage time
- Enthusiasm for working with teenagers
- Strong administrative and customer service skills
- Attention to detail, problem-solving and strong analytical skills
- Desire to be a part of a team but also ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate clearly and effectively
- Outstanding verbal & written communication skills
- Sense of humor and friendly demeanor
- Successful passing criminal background & driving tests
- Health clearance for TB screening
