Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating and executing efficient export shipment paperwork, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the process. This role requires close communication with the internal Sales team, logistics, shipping, production, and WSDA. This individual will also assist with data checks and phyto (agricultural inspection certification) document creation and upload. This export shipping clerk will report directly to the Administrative Manager at our Pasco, WA location. While experience in export, logistics, or shipping are helpful, we are willing to train the individual who possesses a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and excel in a new industry.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Prepare shipment files for daily shipping orders.
• Process and prepare shipping and receiving documents.
• Complete daily data entry and reporting for shipment processing.
• Ensure all orders are completed correctly and shipped in a timely fashion.
• Maintain order and housekeeping of the shipping office.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain clear and open communication with shipping department and logistics team production supervisors.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Walking and working outdoors in the elements and in an office environment.
• Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
  
  

Expected Hours of Work

• To support daily operations across time zones, individual will typically work 7:00am to 4:00pm PST
• Shipping hours may vary per week and are dependent on customer needs and schedules.
• Harvest and planting seasons may require longer hours, including weekends.
  
  

Desired Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 years’ experience in a shipping/receiving setting.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings and weekends during time-critical periods of the shipping season.
• Problem resolution and customer service skills.
• Experience using Windows based computer programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and a general aptitude with software systems.
• Experience working with shipping, receiving, or related software programs.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
• Knowledge of common warehouse operations and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.
