POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Social Worker will work primarily with students ages 5-18 years of age who have demonstrated behavioral, attitudinal, emotional, social and learning problems. The Social Worker will be report to the Executive Director of Childcare.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Provide individual, group counseling and social skils group work focusing on pro-social behaviors, anger management strategies, problem solving and self regulation skills for children ages 5-18 years.

· Maintain case files and reports to track progress and challenges

· Acts as a liaison between home, school and Y and coordinate all services from state and local agencies

· Provides crisis intervention and in class support as needed

· Provide training and/or workshops for staff regarding Behavioral Management at least four times per year or as needed

· Provide counseling sessions treatment plans or workshops as necessary and establish prevention programs and intervention plans

· Contact student families when needed for various emergencies

· Assist families and students in accessing community resources for the purpose of addressing needs beyond the school day

· Provides clinical assessments and interventions for students and families for the purpose of determining the appropriate intervention strategy

· Organize, update, and maintain files and paperwork showing respect for confidentiality

· Exercise the highest level of confidentiality and security with sensitive information

· Respond to voices messages and e-mails with 24 hours or by the end of next business day

· Ensure that assigned duties are performed timely and adequately

· Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
