Adult Day Care Director creates and directs programs that address the health, psychosocial, and educational needs of older individuals and their caregivers and that provide clients a safe, secure, and positive daily experience. Responsible for recruiting, training, and retention of qualified staff. Being an Adult Day Care Director manages the financial operations for the center including billing, reimbursements, and budgets. Performs assessments of prospective clients to determine if programs will meet their needs. Additionally, Adult Day Care Director coordinates with caregivers, families, social services agencies, and medical professionals to plan clients program of care. Monitors programs to ensure effectiveness, quality care, compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and to identify areas for improvement or expanded program offerings. May be a RN with experience in gerontology. Requires a bachelor's degree of social science or a directly related field. Typically reports to top management. The Adult Day Care Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Adult Day Care Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Muskingum County Adult and Child Protective Services has the opening for a Child Care Worker to be located at Avondale Youth Center and to be supervised by the Director, Gary King. The appropriate and highly desired candidate shall be able to manage all aspects of youth 12 -18 years old in a co-ed residential, group living situation. This includes, but is not limited to; maintaining youth’s wardrobe, assigning and assisting youth with chores, helping with homework, lending and supervising group activities, performing housekeeping chores, maintaining control and order, and the ability to write daily observations on assigned youth with appropriate recommendations as needed. The candidate may assist in the implementation of therapeutic service plans and participate in group therapy sessions. The candidate shall make written reports of unusual or extraordinary events and recommend disciplinary action as needed. The desired candidate may act as a “sponsor” to assigned youth. The applicant shall attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
The applicant must have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age.
Work hours are mostly afternoon and midnight shift, with weekends and holiday coverage.
