Adult Day Care Director creates and directs programs that address the health, psychosocial, and educational needs of older individuals and their caregivers and that provide clients a safe, secure, and positive daily experience. Responsible for recruiting, training, and retention of qualified staff. Being an Adult Day Care Director manages the financial operations for the center including billing, reimbursements, and budgets. Performs assessments of prospective clients to determine if programs will meet their needs. Additionally, Adult Day Care Director coordinates with caregivers, families, social services agencies, and medical professionals to plan clients program of care. Monitors programs to ensure effectiveness, quality care, compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and to identify areas for improvement or expanded program offerings. May be a RN with experience in gerontology. Requires a bachelor's degree of social science or a directly related field. Typically reports to top management. The Adult Day Care Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Adult Day Care Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The Gathering Place (Brattleboro Area Adult Day Services), is an Adult Day program serving Windham County Vermont. We serve adults with a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities. Our participants enjoy music, arts, games, exercise and companionship - just to name a few!
The Program Assistant is responsible for assisting participants with personal care needs which may include toileting and showering, and other activities of daily living. Assists with meals and feeding. Participates in activities and works collaboratively with program staff and management to foster an environment where participants can engage in creative and stimulating therapeutic activities while maintaining their independence, self-esteem and communication.
Distributes prescribed medications to participants for self-administration under the direction/delegation of the RN. May assist with or observe participants with blood sugar/glucometer use.
May document participant vital signs, administration of medication record, individual exercise or physical therapy regimens, ADL’s, and monthly participant goals.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, days (regular business hours). No weekends or evenings; we are closed major holidays. Full time preferred, part time considered for the right candidate.
Rate of pay: $17 per hour depending on experience
Benefits include up to 15 days paid time off in the first year (accrued based on hours worked) plus 7 paid holidays and dental, vision, life, LTD and AD&D coverage at no cost (employee only). 403(b) match after one year.
