Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages engineering tasks involving changes or alterations to designs or specifications of aircraft parts, modules, or systems to ensure calibration and safety. Being an Aircraft Maintenance Manager oversees the scheduling and timely completion of repairs and maintenance ensuring budget adherence. Reviews documented issues and reports to determine repairability and evaluates recommendations for replacements, repairs, or modifications to ensure conformance with safety standards and performance requirements. Additionally, Aircraft Maintenance Manager evaluates aircraft data and technical documents and researches new technologies to identify areas to improve practices or processes. Develops internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and safety standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Program Manager-Aircraft Maintenance & Modification

    Job Description: The Corporate Program Manager (CPM) will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of DRG programs focused on Aircraft Maintenance and Modification.  The CPM is charged with responsibility for all aspects of the program to include program requirements, risk, quality, concurrency, configuration and system safety management, as well as the execution of proposed plans and schedules.  The CPM has the authority to perform day-to-day operations while ensuring appropriate senior management/leadership stays abreast of issues. 

     

     

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

    • Maintain program staffing, training, and safety requirements IAW the PWS and internal policies and procedures in coordination with the Director of Operations.
    • Manages task priorities, short-notice suspense, operational constraints, and other potential impacts to maintain key performance requirements, and assumes total performance. responsibility for work performed and data delivered.
    • Manages the overall maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, approves, and returns to service any aircraft or part thereof.
    • Oversees continuous improvement and standardization plans necessary to achieve program quality, delivery, and cost targets at all program operating locations.
    • Manages personnel to ensure compliant completion of subcontract obligations.
    • Anticipates problems and works to proactively mitigate them.
    • Ensures tasks are completed within estimated time frames and budget constraints.
    • Schedules and assigns duties to direct reports.
    • Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.
    • Monitors each task and keeps customer leadership abreast of all problems and accomplishments.
    • Anticipate problems related to operational areas and environmental and human factors, and then determine contingency requirements and solutions.
    • Responsible for complying with all safety and health regulations: DoD security protocols, OSHA and all applicable local safety standards, reporting & record keeping.
    • Travel may be required.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    REQUIRED:

    • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from four-year College or university; or ten (10) plus years related experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of aviation maintenance experience.
    • Minimum of five (5) plus years of experience in aerospace logistics with exposure to military operating environments.
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ recent military aircraft maintenance and/or MRO experience required.
    • Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance supervisory experience is required.
    • Extensive knowledge of Performance Based Logistics theory and practical application
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

    DESIRED:

    • Certified under 14 C.F.R. Part 65 (FAA Airframe & Powerplant).
    • A broad knowledge of engine hardware and flight line operations/procedures as well as familiarity with the safe operation of heavy equipment and ground support equipment around aircraft is expected.
    • Prior experience with United States Air Force logistics management.
    • Prior experience as a quality inspector on aircraft programs.
    • Aircrew or Operational Maintenance experience on E-4B or similar aircraft.
