Objective / Accountability

To carry out maintenance and construction tasks assigned by the Facility Manager in a hands-on, timely and efficient manner. To lead A maintenance crew when it is assigned.

Function / Corresponding Tasks

Maintenance of facilities

• Ensure facilities are maintained to MG company standards
• Improve routine maintenance practices as new practices are developed.
• Be skilled in the areas of Carpentry, Plumbing, Painting, Concrete work and Nursery Quonset growing shelter construction. Perform assigned tasks in a hands-on role.
• Perform as part of the maintenance dept. to assure that the winter snow removal is completed in a timely manner as assigned.

Maintenance Project Planning

• Coordinate with Maintenance Manager to keep projects on track with regards to personnel and materials needed
• Develop plans, and daily and weekly schedules of projects together with Facilities Manager.
• Communicate daily/weekly projects with internal customers as projects move forward
• Be able to operate equipment proficiently. Specifically Skid-steers, Tractors, as well as Portable hand tools.
• Oversee and lead maintenance crew when assigned
• Train crew on proper maintenance skills

Safety

• Ensure work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
• Conduct tailgate training as assigned my Facilities Manager

• Acquire necessary skills and knowledge to carry out responsibilities of position
• Achieve personal and professional goals through the company
• Actively support and participate in the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

Required Skills

Be able to operate or be training on operating equipment such as: skid steer loaders, tractors, mowers, brush chipper, trencher, backhoe, and all hand help equipment such as chainsaws, weed whips, etc.

Basic carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, painting, tree removal and electrical knowledge

Expectations

Be part of snow removal team and able to work required hours which may include nights and weekends

Education / Experience Pre-requisites

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Need to have a valid driver’s license
• Bi-lingual preferred but not required
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience
• Three years of general maintenance skills and experience
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
