Aircraft Painter applies pre-mixed and blended paint or coating to interior and exterior of assembled aircraft or parts. Prepares surfaces for painting and protects painted surfaces from erosion. Being an Aircraft Painter requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Aircraft Painter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. The Aircraft Painter performs paint strip operations on aircraft. This includes, but not limited to: cleaning, masking, chemical stripping, rinsing, de-masking, deoxidizing and chemical conversation coating applications on aircraft. The Aircraft Painter will comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to his own actions and conduct.
