Description

Position Summary : Performs interior and exterior preparation and painting functions.

Duties :

• Read work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements
• Mix substances or compounds as needed for work activities
• Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers
• Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, sanding machines or pressure washers
• Apply primers or sealers as appropriate to prepare surfaces for finish coats
• Apply paint to surfaces
• Use appropriate tools, such as but no limited to, brushes, paint sprayers, pressure or steam cleaners, putty knives, scrapers, and caulking guns
• Drive company vehicle
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Education, Knowledge and Skills :

• Valid Alaska Driver’s License and clean driving record required
• 3 years painting experience preferred
• Familiar with and able to use common painting tools, techniques and practices
• Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
• Able to climb ladders
• Able to lift 90 lbs.
• Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, carrying, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
