Ambulatory Services Director directs the staff and programs of the ambulatory services department. Oversees, administers, and coordinates all activities and operations of the ambulatory services for the health care facility, including outpatient clinics, outpatient surgery, and urgent care centers. Being an Ambulatory Services Director develops and introduces approved standards and guidelines for ambulatory services and programs. Maintains working relationships with community agencies. Additionally, Ambulatory Services Director ensures non-emergency care clinics operate within budget and in accordance with performance standards. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Ambulatory Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. This position provides oversight to TVCs education and staff development services. Develops, designs, and oversees clinical education and competency training for clinical services staff. Evaluates effectiveness of programs and provides guidance to staff and key leaders based on results. Facilitates assessment and identification of ongoing learning needs for staff development programs. These partnerships include ongoing collaboration with physician, facility and organizational leaders. Responsibilities include all aspects of clinical operations, clinician and patient/family education, customer service, patient safety, financial outcomes, and quality outcome management and regulatory compliance.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Must possess a strong knowledge of as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelors degree in nursing.
Requires a current RN license in state of practice. Requires BLS certification.
Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care management as normally demonstrated through 6 years of relevant experience including at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a lead, supervisory, or equivalent capacity. Requires strong written and oral communication skills. Must demonstrate strong decision-making and critical thinking skills along with the ability to lead change.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
