KHS reasonably expects to pay starting compensation for the position of Business Intelligence Developer III in the range of $41.08– $53.27 hourly.

TELECOMMUTE POSITION
General Purpose:
This position will architect, design, and implement Business Intelligence (BI) data solutions through the creation of data warehouses, data marts, and info-marts while ensuring high levels of data availability. Using a high level of data warehouse analysis, and design experience methodologies will architect data solutions for new Info-mart development and changes to existing data solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: General
- Participate and contribute to the Agile and Project Management methodologies through planning to execution (i.e., requirements gathering; decomposition, development, etc.) in support of department or corporate projects.
- Ability to manage multiple priority projects and shift priorities as needed as well as produce accurate and precise work, detect discrepancies, and resolve discrepancies all while meeting deadlines.
- Be an organized individual that is willing to accept responsibility, demonstrate good judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness, and can adapt and learn quickly.
- Participate in design sessions with organizational stakeholders and business owners to design and build data warehouse to meet business requirements.
- Conduct or participate in meetings with organizational stakeholders to identify and build Infomart architectures that meet business requirements.
- Conduct or participate in design sessions with key technical and business owners to design reporting and analytical applications that leverage the Infomart’s.
Technical
- Full understanding of the Structured Query Language (SQL) with the ability to create complex SQL statements within various data structures.
- Ability to design, develop, implement, and support SQL products including SSIS packages, Agent jobs, RDLC solutions and more.
- Develop and implement data solutions through the creation of data warehouses, data marts, and info-marts while ensuring high levels of data availability including the ETL used to populate those databases.
- Develop and implement normalized and dimensional data models (logical and physical) to support reporting, analytics and data integration sources.
- Establish methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement and will produce guidelines to ensure a manageable infrastructure.
- Design, create, or modify database tables, indexes, constraints, links, stored procedures, and functions.
- Implement plans for building target data architecture incrementally, over time.
- Enforce the change control process for the data architecture artifacts.
- Mentor and provide leadership to junior members of the team.
- Develop logical and physical architectural data diagrams.
- Database/SQL performance and tuning techniques
- Develop of packages, procedures, functions and triggers
- Develop dimensional modeling using the following techniques: Star and Snowflake schemas, bridge, dimensions and fact tables for aggregations and hierarchies.
Analytics
- Has a deep understanding of one or more major business disciplines with a full understanding of the processes, functions, and operations of the Managed Care Organization (MCO).
- Able to identify and describe current technology, facilities and equipment, location, products and services for one or more major business disciplines, with an understanding of the technical architecture.
- Understanding the influence of data, created or used by a department, on operations in the assigned department and the ability to document or investigate issues as to why a certain behavior or outcomes are exhibited through department’s data or reports.
- Strong design skills in creating data solutions, easy to understand data models and business views.
- Has good understanding of Data Vault 2.0 data modeling design pattern used to build a data warehouse for enterprise-scale analytics. The data vault has three types of entities: hubs, links, and satellites.
Communications
- Develop of standards for best practices for data modeling and educating the company on available info-marts and business views.
- Facilitate meetings or communications as an interface between business units, technology teams, and other support resources.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
Employment Standards:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited school or equivalent and four (4) years progressive experience in a Database programming or Data Development position for a medium to large size organization with a structured IT department preferably with at least 2 years of experience in Data Vault 2.0 modeling methods

Ten (8) years progressive experience in a Database programming or Data Development for a medium to large size organization with a structured IT department preferably in healthcare.
Experience may be substituted on a year by year basis. Position is suited for a mid-level to advanced career Reporting and Data Development person.
