Job Description – IT – Systems Analyst
FSLA Status: Exempt
Location: Lordstown, OH
Reports To: IT Application Manager
Primary Function: This system includes application software and IT hardware. The Systems Analyst will work closely with the other IT resources, including other technicians as well as engineers. The person will be responsible for day-to-day MES/SAP/RPA/Data operations, issue fixes, troubleshooting both software and hardware, as well as supporting reporting services and other applications needed to operate the facility in Lordstown, Ohio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain hardware and software system to maximize production uptime. This includes monitoring system health, gathering system statistics, ensuring system backups are performed, maintaining data integrity, responding to requests, etc.
· Conducts programming tasks including program design, program coding, debugging, and documentation.
· Perform design, implementation, and upgrades of systems to meet the business and user needs. Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot core applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints, and databases.
· Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts as needed.
· Responsible for the review of business/functional requirement documents, and develop technical design documents.
· Perform examination and evaluation of current systems to identify requirements.
· Guarantee adherence to deadline and budget requirements.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge with current technologies and technical developments.
· Analyzes, acquires, installs, modifies, and supports operating systems, applications, databases, utilities, and tools related to vehicle manufacturing.
· Utilize the site management of change process to document changes and risk mitigation plans while leading and assisting in incremental improvements to site systems. Document technology and troubleshooting via procedures and job aides.
· Work with Manufacturing team to identify and implement improvements to the applications.
· Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed.
· Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance, and system performance.
· Participate in on-call rotation to respond to daily production issues related to MES/SAP. Troubleshoot issues using log files, events, etc.
Required Education
· Associates or bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology, or equivalent experience.
Required Experience
· Minimum 3 years of related experience in the IT field.
· (Military training and experience in IT, IS, Computer science is acceptable).
· Prior MES/SAP experience required (Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus).
· Working knowledge of a wide variety of programming languages, databases, and web servers is required. (C#, ASP.NET, .Net core, HTML, Java, Java script / Oracle, SQL Server / IIS, Apache).
· Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training, and implementing new applications and systems.
· Experience and proficient level of knowledge with Windows Operating System and Server Operations.
· Knowledge of manufacturing PLCs and HMI systems is a plus.
Requires Skills/Licenses/Certifications
· Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills.
· Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions.
· On/off shift support will be needed for project startup support.
· Willing and able to participate in the on-call schedule/rotation.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate well, verbally and in writing, and have strong reading comprehension and listening skills.
· Strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
· Have a desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations.
· Demonstrate process skills – ability to adapt to an ever-changing manufacturing environment, and understanding of process operations.
· A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks.
· Knowledge of manufacturing PLCs and HMI systems is a plus.
