Purpose
To direct flow of auto liability claims in Risk Management; proper adjusting of casualty files from onset of loss through settlement to minimize and reduce exposures to company.
Responsibilities- Receive first reports relating to coverage
- Process claims to insure proper handling occurs to conclusion
- Direct claims as required to outside adjuster and follow adjuster activities to conclusion
- Handle claims within department per procedures to insure investigation, evaluation, and settlement complete
- Manage correspondence relating to claims
- Train new members of department in position as required
- Maintain diary system relating to claims issues
- Create procedures to follow when new systems/duties added to department.
- Notify company departments as required of accidents/ injuries.
- Communicate with internal/external customers to insure coverage, costs of services needed are met
- Attend management and other meetings relating to department as required
- Handle some physical damage and subrogation claims
- Other duties as assigned
Work with all levels of employees and management
Abilities / Skills Required
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills
Physical Requirements
Above average cognitive/judgment skills, sitting for long periods, manual dexterity, light lifting stooping, bending, listening and speaking ability
Education/Training Required
Two year degree with 2-3 years job related experience, insurance background helpful - 5 Days Ago
