Fuller Architectural Hardwoods is seeking an organized and motivated individual to serve as its Production Manager to support our growing business. This individual is responsible for executing production master scheduling, order entry and management, inventory management, warehousing, local logistics, and supporting the 4 shop floors with parts delivery according to production plans. Working directly with the Foremen and Project Managers. The aim is to increase the productive capacity of the working groups by initiating new strategies, processes, and systems. You will also need to develop short- and long-term cross-functional strategies for all inventory types (direct and indirect) and present to senior management for review to evaluate long-term business impact.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage team members in Scheduling, Shipping, Receiving, Production Support, and Warehousing.
Manage installers and vendor relationships.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Develop production plans to assure optimum use of equipment, smooth product flow and timely shipment of orders to the customer.
Oversee incoming and outgoing shipment activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Monitors customer needs through daily interaction.
Receives and responds to requests for lead times, delivery inquiries, and other customer related information.
Investigates and resolves customer problems associated with deliveries.
Has primary responsibility for managing scheduling and inventory control.
Accountable for achieving budget levels for dollar value and inventory turns. Implements changes as needed to improve systems with regards to the data collection for inventory and production reporting systems.
Plans, organizes, directs, develops, and controls activities related to production schedules of assigned facilities to maximize efficiency and maintain on-time deliveries to customer base. Coordinates the schedules for interplant activities as well.
Manage the flow of information to assure all departments are aware of the production schedule
Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to assure optimum use of equipment, smooth product flow and timely shipment of parts to the customer.
Assure optimal plant flow by coordinating receipt of raw materials, shipment of finished goods, and inter department transfers with appropriate personnel
Carries out manager responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION
Minimum 7 years experience in logistics, material handling, or material planning
Strong problem-solving skills
Expertise across professional disciplines within material management function
Forklift Certification
Ability to influence and collaborate with all levels of the organization
Mentor and develop new leaders or peers
Must have effective communications skills
Must be a problem solver with the ability to analyze information and detect issues.
Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
Intermediate computer skills are required. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word;
Knowledge of different species of wood is helpful
