GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Designer/Drafter to join our team at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, which provides integral mission support to the NNSA. This position is full-time and will serve the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. 

Requirements:

• Associate degree and 6 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with CREO and PDMLink Product Lifecycle Management Software.
• Demonstrated mechanical design experience with the weapons program.
• Experience with ASME Y14.41 Digital Product Definition Data Packages and annotated models.
• Experience with practices and procedures used in the Nuclear Security Enterprise for conveying design intent to other national laboratories and production plants.
• To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
• Due to the nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

Clearance Level Required:
Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:

• Uses computer-aided design (CAD) equipment to produce unique drawings/layouts of non-standard components, facilities and/or systems.
• Generates complete design packages for complex components, facilities and/or systems and resolves design package issues.
• Independently defines design requirements and obtains customer approval.
• Reviews group standards and proposes improvements.
• Defines modeling structure for large, complex design projects.
• Applies engineering design principles to design and fabricate complex and/or non-standard components and assemblies.
• Performs complex calculations in support of unique technical problems.
• Determines budget and schedule information.
• Determines fabrication, construction, operation, and maintenance requirements for project.
• Works independently and as part of a team.
• Leads projects and supervises work.
• Leads process improvement activities.
