Art Manager manages the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Manager oversees the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Monitors projects and timelines. Additionally, Art Manager stays current on latest trends. Develops and manages a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support.     Description

    Manager of Facility Services, Full Time (Exempt)

    POSITION PURPOSE:

    The Manager of Facilities Services assists the Director of Facilities in maintaining the Denver Art Museum building environments and Cultural Campus in line with the goals of the institution. This position oversees the planning, design, construction, maintenance and alteration of equipment, buildings, machinery, and other facilities. This position gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, organization or government regulations, and construction feasibility. They plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including estimates, bid sheets, layouts, contracts, and labor/material requirements. They inspect the construction and installation progress to ensure compliance with established specifications, space allocation, layout, and timetables. Areas of oversight for this position include basic operation and maintenance of all roofing systems, window systems, grounds maintenance, as well as HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems to ensure maximum efficiency and performance. This position assists with personnel issues and capital improvement planning, as well as Prevailing Wage related issues.

    This position reports to the Director of Facilities.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • In coordination with the Director, establishes, develops, and implements department goals, and position workloads.
    • Directs daily scheduling activities, with the help of supervisors, and assists in solving scheduling issues (to include approval of requests for individual vacation and sick time requests.)
    • Oversees all established training to ensure completion, which includes physical and procedural training as required by department and institutional policy.
    • Plans & coordinates project workloads and assists the Director in securing needed funds, defining job scopes, contractor selection and daily organization of project workloads.
    • Directs planning and scheduling of event support activities.
    • Represents the Director in meetings and official functions when they are unable to attend.
    • Maintains effective working relationships with employees, volunteers, contractors, various representatives of public and private entities, policy making bodies and the public.
    • Oversees daily office operations to ensure all office procedures and standards are maintained at an acceptable level.
    • Maintains Facility division records and filing systems which includes institutional blueprints and building equipment manuals.
    • Coordinates all contractor activity on the museum campus.
    • Interviews and participates in the hiring process of Facilities Division personnel.
    • Manages three direct report supervisors.
    • Works with departmental supervisory staff to establish performance objectives, assesses performance throughout the year providing feedback and reviews supervisory evaluations of each employee twice each year.
    • Assists with establishing and maintaining institutional health and safety standards.

    Qualifications


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Five years (5) or more of supervisory experience in facility management or construction management required. (Educational certifications may be substituted for a portion of the five-year requirement if applicable.)
    • Ability to work independently and with frequent interruptions.
    • Experience with OSHA regulations and implementation of OSHA safety rules and regulations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft word processing, Excel spreadsheets, Access database and MicroMain Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Organizational skills and ability to multitask as needed.
    • Exhibit critical thinking and problem-solving skills to create solutions in a timely and safe manner.
    • Business writing skills such as policy development and writing.
    • Conflict resolution skills such as de-escalation and effectively leading crucial conversations.
    • Experience, knowledge, and skill in maintaining major building systems such as an understanding of HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical operations.
    • Crisis management and the ability to make effective decisions under stress and/or stressful situations.
    • Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
    • Ability to train, supervise, direct, motivate, and evaluate staff within the Facilities department.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with a variety of representatives of public and private organizations.
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal (collaborative), planning, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
    • Effective presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

     

    EDUCATION:

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management / Construction Management / or associated field is preferred.

     

    EXPERIENCE, Certifications, and Licenses:

    • Possess and maintain a valid Colorado class R driver’s license.

    Note: Driving record must be checked/approved by facility insurance carrier.

    • OSHA 10 certification or higher required.
    • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
    • Additional appropriate educational certifications may be substituted for a portion of the five-year requirement if applicable.

     

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

    • Subject to long irregular hours.
    • Subject to burns, cuts, and injuries from moving parts of equipment.
    • Subject to frequent interruptions and scheduling conflicts.
    • Job requires the use of basic power/hand, pneumatic, electric tools for construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of the building and its systems.
    • Computer systems operations/skills including, but not limited to: Email, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets.
    • Use of MicroMain: Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
    • Use of a radio handset.
    • Operating motor vehicles.
    • Use of ladders, scaffolding, and scissor lifts.
    • Utilizing harnesses to safely complete work in elevated spaces.
    • May be required to enter confined spaces.

    Compensation: The hiring salary for this position is $71,100 - $94,700 based on experience.
