Art Manager manages the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Manager oversees the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Monitors projects and timelines. Additionally, Art Manager stays current on latest trends. Develops and manages a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Art Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Art Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Responsibilities include:
Customer Service
* Quality customer service is one of the things that U.S.Art is known for. This is our lifeline to the art community and it must be maintained at the highest possible levels at all times.
* Responsiveness to client needs and requests in both positive and negative circumstances is the key to a proper and fair resolution. Consistent monitoring is necessary to make sure we always speak with a unified voice.
Sales
* Knowledge of your local market and institutions.
* Open communication with local institutions to establish clear line of access to our resources.
* Generate marketing ideas and programs in local market that tie into U.S.Art corporate culture and resources.
* Involvement with local Art community functions and events to establish U.S.Art as part of the local community.
* Full knowledge of our complete range of services provided locally, nationwide and internationally.
* Up to date knowledge of our pricing and project bidding structure. Ability to produce proper estimate and bid proposals.
Staffing
* Day to day overview management of all staff from operations managers, customer service, crating managers, their staff and art handler/drivers. This includes hiring, reviewing and firing.
* Monitoring of day to day performance of staff, their communication with co-workers and customers as well as the management of their time.
* Participation in the training for all staffing levels to ensure consistency with interaction with clients and other staff personnel.
* 4. Proper establishment and assignment of individual responsibilities within your office to various staff members and monitoring of same for proper performance and adherence to established rules and standards.
Communication
* Availability to local clients, local staff, and corporate staff to discuss issues and programs that involves your office, facility, clients and services.
* Communication with corporate on status of your facility and market.
* Proper and timely reporting of local trucking, packing, and crating schedules.
* Proper and timely reporting of project status.
* Proper and timely reporting of problems and issues.
Accounting / Financial
* Responsible for the maintenance of complete and detailed petty cash logs
* Responsible for proper and detailed communication and cooperation with corporate accounting.
Facilities
* Monitor security and associated systems for performance and consistency. This includes knowledge of and communication with local service providers if needed.
* Monitor building support systems including heating, cooling, humidification, dehumidification and other plant or facility systems to ensure smooth operations for clients and staff.
Equipment and Supplies
* Monitor overall supplies for office operations
* Monitor overall supplies for wrapping/packing/crating operations
* Monitor overall supplies for facility maintenance
