We are looking for a committed Christian Athletic Director to coordinate, supervise and evaluate the total interscholastic athletic program in the best interest of the students, complying with all state and school policies. The Athletic Director shall ensure cost-effective program management and coordinate and approve all fundraising projects and contributions to cover the cost of all athletic programs less the cost of administrative salaries, fringe benefits and transportation.
The Athletic Director will complement our qualified workforce of educators. The ideal candidate will love Jesus, be passionate for the job with an ability to reach out to students and create a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize an athletic program. The goal is to help cultivate the students’ interest in education, love for God and be their dedicated ally in the entire process of learning and athletics.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensure all coaches have met coaching permit, CPR, and AED certification requirements.
2. Meet with coaches before the season to review the athletic handbook and make any changes applicable to respective sports program, as well as procedures, rules, and needs. Ensure all coaches receive an athletic handbook.
3. Annually observe and evaluate each head coach and assure that each head coach evaluates each of those coaches in his/her program. Share evaluation with Principal for review; for placement in personnel file.
4. Ensure that middle school coaches are evaluated.
5. Coordinate the district's interscholastic athletic programs, cooperating with the coaches and principals, to ensure that students meet eligibility requirements.
6. Arrange transportation required by athletic teams at CCA and ensure transportation required by middle school teams is scheduled appropriately.
7. Schedule all athletic events, which includes issuance of contracts in accordance with the Florida High School Athletic Association at CCA and ensure athletic events required by middle school teams are scheduled appropriately.
8. Secure and employ officials in accordance with provision set forth by the league and the FHSAA and ensure officials required by middle school teams are scheduled appropriately.
9. Arrange for timers, trainers, scorekeepers, ticket personnel, and administrative personnel involved in the total operation of all athletic events and ensure personnel required by middle school teams are scheduled appropriately. Follow hiring policies for those being paid by the school.
10. Assume the responsibility to make appropriate arrangement to have contest and spectator facilities ready for all contests and coordinate the scheduling of facilities for practices.
11. In cooperation with other administrators, assists with supervision of athletic events.
12. Assure provisions are made for participants to have either proper insurance coverage or a waiver on file.
13. Assure that all physical examinations are conducted in accordance with FHSAA regulations. Establish dates and locations for district sponsored athletic physicals.
14. Prepare an annual budget and financial records for each sport.
15. Issue pay orders for athletic bills/invoices upon receipt of satisfactory supplies and equipment.
16. Maintain an up-to-date budget for each sport showing balance invoices paid and current encumbrances.
17. Maintain a complete inventory and accurate written record of all equipment for each sport as reported by the head coach.
18. Strive to maintain community awareness of the athletic programs.
19. Organize and supervise award night activities in cooperation with athletic staff and principal(s) at the end of the year.
20. Participate in the activities of the PTF in the best interest of all students.
21. Present concerns relative to the athletic programs to the Administrative Leadership Team.
22. Following coaches' completion of all post-season responsibilities and in conjunction with principals, authorize payment for coaching and advising supplemental contracts.
23. Control athletic event ticket sales.
24. Abide by all CCA School policies.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens.
2. Conduct other duties related to the Athletic Director as assigned by administration, or his/her designee.
