We are seeking a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) to join our team as a swim lesson instructor and private lesson instructor for children pre-kindergarten - elementary.

JOB SCOPE: A Swim Instructor’s main responsibility is the safety and efficiency of the class. Conducts a progressive swim class while maintaining its fun and creativity. Must be flexible with hours for private lessons and group lessons. Is open to new ideas from supervisor. Is responsible for cleanliness of pool and work area.

A Swim Instructor is responsible and accountable for:

• Ensure the safety for students
• Conduct an effective class that is progressive
• Is a quick change artist when it comes to different levels and abilities
• Be assertive in appropriate situations
• Be open to new ideas from supervisor
• Proven ability to maintain open and positive relations with employees and members.
• Keep current in teaching for certification

Qualifications:

• Red Cross W*ater Safety I*nstructor Certification
• Must have a CPR/AED certification for the professional rescuer
• Applicants should expect to work a flexible schedule based on needs of members and lessons.
• Must be self sufficient, reliable and be able to handle multiple tasks and difficult people and situations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to membership

In addition, candidates for all positions at YVRC, Inc, must have successful work performance demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively, work well with others, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgement and display intitiative and innovation on the job.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $16.78 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
